A 5K Walk To Benefit Homeless Animals
You are the heart of A.D.O.P.T. and it is because of your generosity and dedication to the animals that A.D.O.P.T. is able to continue to work towards its mission “Until Every Pet Has a Home”!
The Starting Place through The Finish Line
Registration begins at 8:30am and the walk steps off at 9:30am at Naperville Central High School. Rest stops offering water and snacks, bones and dog curbing materials and first aid are provided along the route. Refreshments, music, games, shopping and lots of fun are provided too!!
The Pledge Program
While there is no registration fee, participants are asked to obtain pledges-per-kilometer or a set donation. Set a goal and ask your friends, family, co-workers to help you achieve it!
2017 Walkathon t-shirts will be awarded to participants turning in pledges totaling $100 or more. Incentives are earned by collecting donations of $100 or more, $300+, $500+ and $1000+. The #1 pledge-getter will be honored with your name added to the Makin' Strides for Strays Top Pledge-getter progressive plaque, displayed in the lobby of A.D.O.P.T'.'s shelter. The #1 pledge-getting team will receive this year's coveted Makin' Strides for Strays Top Pledge-getting team plaque for display in its place of business!

- Please make checks payable to A.D.O.P.T. Receipts are available at registration.
- If you're unable to walk, but would still like to be a supporter, we will assign a dog walker for you.
- NO retractable leashes, rollerblades, skateboards, please.
- Dogs under 4 months, vicious dogs or female dogs in heat are not allowed to participate.
Please use good judgement regarding the outdoor temperature. Be sure your dog does not become overheated!! Be alert to your dog's physical condition during the walk!

All funds raised from this, our biggest human-canine social---and fundraising---event of the year will be used toward the veterinary care and special needs of our animals, as well as the overall operation of our animal shelter and enhancement of ongoing programs.
